The short version: Mono is designed with privacy at its core. Your screen time data stays on your device. We don't track you, we don't sell your data, and we don't require an account to use the app.

Mono is operated by Rohe Technik OÜ, a company registered in Estonia. We act as the data controller for any personal data processed through the Mono app and website.

2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Data that stays on your device (never sent to us)
The following data is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Screen time statistics and app usage patterns
- Blocked app configurations
- Focus session history
- Personal goals and settings
2.2 Data we may collect
We collect minimal data necessary to operate the service:
- Purchase data: If you subscribe to Mono Pro, Apple processes your payment. We receive a transaction confirmation (no credit card details) to unlock premium features.
- Support requests: If you email us at support@rohe.ai, we process your email address and message content to respond to your inquiry.
- Anonymous analytics: We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage data (e.g., total number of active users, average session counts) that cannot be linked back to any individual. This helps us improve Mono.
- Website data: When you visit our website, standard server logs may include your IP address, browser type, and referring page. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics on our website.
2.3 Data we do NOT collect
- We do not require you to create an account
- We do not collect your name, phone number, or location
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or messages
- We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties
- We do not use cookies for tracking or profiling
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Article 6)
Where we process personal data, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing purchase data to provide Mono Pro features you've paid for.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): Processing anonymous analytics to improve the app; processing server logs for security and fraud prevention.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): If we ever introduce optional features that require additional data, we will ask for your explicit consent first.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Apple: Processes in-app purchases and subscriptions on our behalf.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
5. Data Retention
- On-device data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear data manually.
- Purchase records: Retained for the duration of your subscription plus the legally required retention period for financial records.
- Support emails: Retained for up to 24 months after your last interaction, then deleted.
- Server logs: Automatically deleted after 90 days.
6. Your Rights (GDPR Articles 15–22)
As a user in the European Economic Area (and to all users regardless of location), you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15): Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16): Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17): Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restrict processing (Art. 18): Request that we limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20): Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21): Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)): Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

7. International Data Transfers
Since most data stays on your device, international transfers are minimal. Where they occur (e.g., support emails), data is processed within the EEA or in countries with an adequate level of data protection as determined by the European Commission.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Screen time data is encrypted on your device and never leaves it.
9. Children's Privacy
Mono is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@rohe.ai and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, through the app. Continued use of Mono after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Supervisory Authority
If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or the supervisory authority of your EU member state of residence.
